The Czech Republic has mild climate that is more or less the same as in Belgium/The Netherlands. In summer time the temperatures can rise up to 30 degrees while in winter time it can be as cold as 25 degrees below zero, especially in the mountainous areas of Eastern-Bohemia. In the spring you can expect most of the rain and in the fall you will be able to enjoy the most beautiful color schemes in the woods.
The Czech Republic borders to the following neighbour countries: Germany to the West / Poland to the North / Slovakia to the East and Austria to the south. Since the beginning of 2008 all borders are open to all visitors.
The Czech language (Ceština, Ceský jazyk) is a western-Slavonic language. It is closely related to the Slovakian language. Czech is written with the Latin alphabet, using some special diacritical signs, such as the háCek (haakje), the accent aigu (Cárka, ‘) and the corona (kroužek, °).
The following travel documents are compulsory: identity card/ green card for car insurance / road tax sticker for the highway (available at the border shop or in gas stations) / Vaccination certificate for pets (European passport).
