This is a traditional style of house that you will see in all locations in this area. These are true typical Czech timbered houses.
Museums:
It is worth visiting the Merkur Museum in the nearby town of Police nad Metuje. For the Czech population it is as important as the toy maker Lego.
UNESCO Heritage:
There are some in Eastern-Bohemia: Litomysl (50km south of Hradec Kralové, UNESCO monument since 1996. In the brewery of the castle the composer ‘Smetana’ was born.

Bycicle- & Hiking routes
There are many different hiking areas: * Eagel Montains * Hradecko area * Giant Mountains. Also in Grandmother’s Valley ‘Babiccino Udoli’, you can go for beautiful walking trips.
There are several interesting cycle routes, especially in the Natural Areas, where you can often use the so called ‘cycle busses’. In most of the tourist information centers you get a map with all the marked cycled routes in the surrounding area. Sometimes there is even some information on cycle routes across the border in Poland.
Wintersports!
The area is perfectly fit for ski & snowboard activities, for both beginners and more trained ski and snowboard fanatics.
